David Koppitz joined the International Advisory Centre for Municipalities MEPCO in 2008. Besides performing managerial responsibilities in the small consulting enterprise, he oversees methods of quality management including strategic planning, integrated approaches, strategic and project management. He has co-authored a number of strategic documents at local and regional levels and has been involved in the preparation of urban and territorial dimensions of the Cohesion Policy in 2014+.
David applies his expertise to development projects abroad, especially in Eastern and Southeast Europe. He has also participated in projects of the European Territorial Cooperation programs mostly supporting knowledge management and innovation in SMEs and promoting cooperation between schools and the business sector.
David gained local government management experience at the Pardubice City Hall (2003-2008) as head of external relations and represented the Mayor’s Office. He completed a number of internships in both the private (General Motors Corporation) and public sectors (cities in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway). He is a certified PRINCE 2 Practitioner.
David earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Southern Oregon University (SOU), USA and master’s degree at the Technical University in Brno. His studies concentrated on finance, business and management. In addition, he did extensive research on innovation support of SMEs with the use of venture capital.
